History of Homeopathy?

Homeopathy was discovered in the 18th Century by Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician who was very unhappy with the methods of therapy available in his time. He searched for an alternate treatment that would be gentle, reduce pain & have no side effects. He discovered that diluting the medicines reduces side effects significantly & with higher dilutions, the side effects are almost nil. His method was based on the principle of "like cures like" and started treating people effectively with these potentized dilutions. It is a system based on the study of the nature of health faced by humankind. It is considered a natural medicine that is not plagued by side effects, and the treatment of disease is also achieved without any use of synthetic medicines. Over time this method started to gain popularity across many countries and has become a popular alternative method for treatment.

Why is Homeopathy recommended?

Safe - Homeopathy is an alternative therapy that is safe as it is highly diluted, has no side effects & does not interfere with conventional or herbal medications
Gentle - In over 200 years, no clinically recorded side effects have been reported to damage the liver, kidneys, and other organs
Natural - Completely naturally derived from extracts of plants, flowers, minerals & animals
Targets the Root Cause - Looks at eliminating the ailment from its root cause rather than treating only the symptoms.
Compliance – Homeopathic medicines comply with high standards & specifications of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS)

The treatment of diseases by this alternative treatment method is based on natural principles observed in the modern world. It is an alternative medical science that uses natural healing methods to treat various diseases. People from all over the world use homeopathy or homeopathic medicine to get rid of the disease. It can treat diseases as well as prevent them. For example, people who suffer from allergies also use homeopathy or homeopathic medicine for treating their allergies. People suffering from nervous disorders and anxiety disorders can also use homeopathy as a treatment for them. Likewise, people suffering from nervous disorders and depression can use homeopathy.

How is it Holistic in its approach?

In homeopathy, it is believed that at first, something goes wrong with the individual's life force/energy, which poorly impacts the overall resistance to infection or disease. Hence, homeopathic medicine takes into consideration the individual manifestations of the Mind, Body & Soul. Once this is accurately established, selecting the proper homeopathic medicine, its strength and dilution become apparent for the homeopathic expert. People could experience a noticeable improvement to the overall health in around 60 to 90 days. This is depending on the severity of the overall health condition and several other contributing factors. Homeopathic medicines can be used along with other allopathic, conventional or mainstream medicines as it does not interfere with other medications and in most cases can be complementary.

Method used by Homeopathy

Homeopathic dilutions are made from extracts of various natural sources of plants, minerals, animals (no animals harmed in the process). These extracts are in a highly diluted form and treated with potentization, which negates the substance's toxicity and increases its remedial effect. After accurately identifying the homeopathic medicines, the following necessary process is of Succussion, which is the dilution using alcohol or water, followed by vigorous shaking to ensure proper mixing.

How do such diluted medicines work?

One would undoubtedly wonder how such diluted medicines can work. To explain the working of homeopathy, let us consider the analogy of a general experiment, 'The experiment of magnetizing the iron rod.' If kept close to some iron fillings, an iron rod does not attract any fillings to it, rubbing the magnet from one end of the rod to the other in the same direction each time. After repeating this several times, the iron rod attracts the filings that cling to the iron rod's end. What has changed? - The iron rod, when rubbed on by the magnet, gained the magnet's property as its molecules and atoms responded to the magnet and aligned in a particular manner.

Similarly, the process of potentization when the homeopathic medicines are diluted and treated through succussion (giving 100 jerks to the combination of one part of medicinal substance with 99 parts of the neutral vehicle substance) to provide a higher potency with each dilution process. The neutral vehicle substance used for diluting the original physiological substance takes on the functional property of that actual substance.

Hence the diluted substance carries the healing frequency with it. Still, there are no side effects at the same time. There is hardly any physiological substance left that must be assimilated and eliminated/excreted either by the liver or the kidneys. Thus the significant reasons for side effects are eliminated due to potentization.

Limitations of Homeopathy?

Homeopathy, too, like any other therapy, has its limitations that need to be kept in mind. It does not serve in emergency conditions that are purely mechanical & need surgical intervention. Some examples include, but are not limited to suppurated appendicitis, gall stone obstruction, heart attack, status asthamaticus. In any or all such cases, one must immediately contact emergency services. Research is continuous in homeopathy & is carried out per prevailing world standards by statutory organizations. Refer to research findings on HPUS, HRI(UK) & CCRH(India).

Important Notice
We firmly recommend against any self-medication because the Homeopathy medicines must be used with care in conditions such as pregnancy or post-surgery due to suture material. Trained professionals only understand these intricacies and details.
